You Know It's Humid When...

Blanching

We were given beans by someone in our congregation

So I worked on putting them in the freezer.

We got 11 bags.

Breaking in the Fire Pit

We enjoyed an evening with Randy & Jill around the campfire.

It was the first time we used it!

This is currently a favourite picture of Julian.

It is really hard to take pictures of her.

She's moving all the time.

Saturday Project

All we need now is some wood, some hotdogs,

and friends to enjoy a fire!

Blooms

Our marigolds are in full bloom again.

The rose bush has one open bloom

And it's full of many buds.

Church in the Park

This past Sunday was our church's annual service in the park.

A family from a neighbouring town did the program.

The kids were really cute.

Afterward we enjoyed a great meal of pulled-pork.

We also had some great conversation.

Watermelon Days

Many towns in Iowa have a special annual event. 

Dike has Watermelon Days,

with their moto "A Slice of Dike"

They had a day full of events. We made it to the parade,

which was followed by all-you-can-eat watermelon.

Randy did a great job cutting pieces.

VBS - The Armor of God

This past week we had VBS

I had to include at least one slightly blurry picture 

to show the movement of VBS :)

The kids had fun making crafts each day.

Stephanie was great with the kids

They worked really hard on their activities

The theme was "Armor of God"

The snacks were very creatively presented

We had one day of rain, so games got moved inside

The crafts throughout the week culminated

in something they could wear.
