Let Them Eat Cake

Someone dropped off this cake for a kid in our congregation. 

Marc might not like the colour, but it's a pretty neat cake.

Chiapas: Day 3

On our third day we visited Acteal

Grace is showing how the toilets flush.

I took this picture for more than the gorgeous view.

Take a look at those hillside fields!

This is the congregation at the church we visited.

They are the families of the people we 

visited on day 1 - those unjustly imprisoned.

This woman's husband was still in prison.

We took her picture so we'd be reminded to pray 

for her and others like her.

A lot of the women still wear the traditional dress.

Different areas have different traditional clothing.

Why we want rain

The other evening we had a prayer service for rain. 

We haven't had a good amount of rain in over a month!

Air Show

We visited someone at the hospital in Sioux Falls. 

We enjoyed watching air show while we visited. 

Chiapas: Day 2

On our second day in Chiapas we visited Chamula 

Photography within this "church" is forbidden.

Here we witnessed shamanistic rituals.

These ladies were frying corn.

Apparently it tastes pretty good.

In certain places we could only take pictures 

if people weren't looking.

Outside these "churches" they would set off these firecrackers.

They were very loud. 

They filled pipes with gun powder and then set them off.

We also visited the home of a Christian family.

They made us tortillas.

They were very tasty.

This mother was quite young.

Rain in Hull

We finally had rain today. We haven't had rain in several weeks. 

It was really exciting. 

Knee High by the 1st of July?

In Iowa we've definitely gone past that!
